Aideen Barry insists that the one thing she has learnt - since her emergence on the international art scene as an important voice of Irish art - is the importance of hospitality: bringing together artists, activists, thinkers, scientists and the public to consider issues facing our world and to realise the potential we have to take them on. Join us on Friday evening with Aideen at her home on the lower slopes of the Silvermines Mountains for food, drink, conversation and film projection.

Film Projection

THE SILVER BRANCH (2018) 1h 15m

Katrine Costello

A film about one man's journey through life which underpins a search to reconnect with nature and culture as primary sources from which we learn a deeper understanding of ourselves and our surroundings.

Meet Anne & Denis who talk about their two year solar journey on the island’s waterways, show you their studies and observations of nature and tell of their encounters with artists, activists and scientists who explore with them the problems and promises of the freshwater environment.

Join Aideen, Anne & Denis for some locally produced culinary offerings and a chat about some the environmental issues Aideen faces on the slopes of the Silvermines, where mining practices have poisoned much of the soil.
