Since 2010 we have been building a series of viewing instruments in collaboration with Neil McKenzie, who brings his rich experience of working on vintage cars (Aston Martins in particular). From permanent, site specific viewing posts to helmets based on perceptive adaptation experiments, these instruments have become central to the identity of The School of Looking.https://www.artmetalcoachbuilding.com/abouthttps://www.artmetalcoachbuilding.com/aboutshapeimage_1_link_0shapeimage_1_link_1

“My particular favourite are the 'historioscopes', circular viewers that allow you to look at the landscape beyond and see how it would've looked. I thought these were a fantastic addition to the walk, enabling the viewer to literally step back in time.”
