We use new technologies and build collaborative partnerships, including a current collaboration in art & neuroscience with David Byrne (of Talking Heads), and a motion capture artwork studying the movement of conductor Sir Simon Rattle for the Barbican in London. Our artwork captivates people through strong visual language, and uses technology to explore scientific concepts related to light, movement, time and space.

It has been a wonderful voyage of discovery for us and now the School of Looking will perpetuate this adventure and convert it into an enduring organisation, providing more and more compelling opportunities for people to enjoy art and learn about science in active and constructive contexts.

The School of Looking is

    The art of looking

    The science of seeing.

Anne Cleary & Denis Connolly, November 2017

For over a decade, through our collaborative partnership - Cleary & Connolly - we have been developing multidisciplinary art projects through partnerships with world class galleries and museums, universities, arts organisations, research centres and schools in Ireland, France, Britain, Germany and the US. These include the Pompidou Centre in France; the Barbican and the London Symphony Orchestra in London; the National Museum of Ireland and CURAM Research Institute in Ireland; and Todo Mundo TV, David Byrne’s production company in New York.
