Mick & Irene perform Through Air & Water at Clonmacnoise, powered by the Mayfly, May 2022
Sound artists Irene Murphy and Mick O'Shea use microphones and hydrophones to record the sounds of wind and water on the Grand Canal, performing an improvised live performance on the 48M using these recordings and their own self-made instruments to create an immersive sonic experience where the audience becomes part of a sonic ecosystem.
In late June our Journey to the East will bring the Mayfly to Tullamore to visit the 48M - a heritage barge built in 1929 which we hope to renovate sustainably. On Saturday 24 June we invite Irene Murphy and Mick O'Shea to perform a private concert on the barge in resonance with this old steel structure.
