Each screen printing workshop invites 10 participants of all ages and walks of life to participate in the making of pennant flag lines for the Pangolin Pavilion.

Andrew Duhig, member of the Curraghgour Boat Club and boat builder, shares his stories of maritime traditions in Limerick. and shows a stunning scaled model ‘Canal Gate’, a project he has worked over the past few months.

Artists Deirdre Power and Chelsea Canavan join the School of Looking for this launch event to create flags that will accompany the Eco Showboat on its journey, while Andrew Duhig, member of Curraghgour Boat Club, shows us his extraordinary model of a canal lock. The event finishes with a ceremonial pinning of the flags on to the Pangolin Pavilion.
People of all ages are invited to take part in a ceremonial flag-making event to celebrate the launch the 1st Eco Showboat expedition on Saturday April 30th at the Curraghgour Boat Club. Recalling maritime flags and semaphore, participants will work with artists Deirdre Power and Chelsea Canavan to design and make flags using screen printing techniques. These flags will be pinned onto the Pangolin Pavilion and they will travel with the boat, as a blessing and a good luck charm to ensure a safe and successful voyage. The workshop will celebrate the river and respond to the ecology of communities.
